About the Issues
Agriculture
Farming is vital to Johnson County, both as a lifestyle and a major producer of jobs. I support legislation that puts Missouri at the forefront of agricultural production and research globally while protecting family farms.
|
|
I look forward to working with the farmers in Johnson County and with the Department of Agriculture to find ways to help stimulate our local and state economy.

|
Military Families We are proud to have the Whiteman Air Force Base in the 121st District. Our soldiers put their lives at risk and they, and their families, make great sacrifices while training and serving our country. Far too many military families struggle to stay afloat. We must |
work to see that they have educational opportunities, job protection and adequate health care. I will also work to help stimulate our local economy by attracting military-based companies to Johnson County.
Guns/ Sportsman
Growing up in rural Missouri, hunting is a vital part of our heritage. As a member of the National Rifle Association, I will always protect hunting rights and gun ownership.
Education
As an educator, I understand that providing educational opportunities for our youth is essential to the future of our district and the state of Missouri. In order for our children to be competitive in the rapidly changing economic climate, we must work to ensure that our children can achieve a world-class education.
Higher Education
As you may know, my husband is a professor at UCM here in Warrensburg. As educators, higher education is near and dear to our hearts. We must work to make higher education in Missouri more affordable. |
|
I will also work to partner business and UCM together in ways to create jobs locally for students seeking such opportunities. They gain experience, we stimulate our local economy. Everybody wins.
Job Growth and Economic Development
Warrensburg is one of the most recent additions to Missouri's Certified Local Government program. With the depressed economy, the historic tax credits program provides a win-win investment in creating jobs, recycling the built environment as opposed to demolition, protecting community heritage and bolstering tourism resources. I support historic preservation and tourism efforts throughout the district. We must work to provide more incentives to attract more businesses to Johnson County while reducing the bureaucratic red tape on our small businesses.

Life
As a mother, my daughter is my world. I believe we must always work to protect life of the born and unborn.
