About Courtney Cole

I live in the 121st District with my husband, Jason Cole, and three-year-old daughter, Mackenzie. Jason and I are both educators living in Warrensburg. I am currently a teacher at Higginsville High School. Jason is a professor at the University of Central Missouri in the Communications Department. Jason also earned his Masters in Communications at UCM in 1999.
I was born and raised in Missouri, attended public schools and was always very active in the community. I spent my summers volunteering in a food pantry and thrift store. My time there allowed me to witness first hand the struggles of many families in tough economic times. This has made me sensitive to others needs throughout my whole life.
I attended Cottey College, where I received an Associate’s Degree. It was at Cottey that I met my husband, Jason. I then transferred to the University of Saint Mary on scholarship, where I received a Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Education and Theater. I had the privilege of graduating with Honors in the field of Theater, recognized in the Who’s Who program for universities, and was given the first Student of the Month award for the university, due to fulfilling the mission of the college.
I continue to be actively involved in community service. I'm a member of the Business Women of Missouri organization, having served as a local president and Young Careerist Chair for the State Board. I won the State competition for the Y.C. program in 2006 and represented Missouri nationally in Dallas.
I am also a member of the Philanthropic Education Organization (PEO) which promotes educational opportunities for women through scholarships, educational loans and programs.
My family attends church at the First United Methodist in downtown Warrensburg. I have had a lifetime relationship with Christ and have led service projects in the community with the church. I became a member of Mothers of Pre-School Students (M.O.P.S.) which incorporates the message of Christianity for support in being a mom.
Born and raised in Missouri, I grew up in the city of Excelsior Springs. My parents, Kevin and Sonya Morgan, currently own a small business web site design company, Morgansites.com. Morgansites.com is a family business which incorporates both myself and my younger brother, Joe, who has his own business in Kansas City -- Joe’s Datacenter.
